Regional Recap: Pieck Top 32

Written By Siren

Hello Everyone!

It's Siren! I'm here to yap about my Vegas regional experience with you all! Let's waste no time and get straight into it!

Day 0

This was Thursday and after a long flight (and a long walk I decided to make to Rainforest Café from the airport) I was with the team! Vibing and hanging out! I played a test match against Marvin with Pieck, my deck for the main event of this regional! I lost 1-2 but had fun and played a 5 attack string! It was very close! I then went to the room to sleep and prep for Friday!

Day 1

This was teams day! Had some great breakfast with the teams and got to hang with homies! I played a match of pony against Dan's Biolante and won without ever touching the deck before so that was pretty nifty but I was on Bridget for this event! I entered the event hall, got some last minute cards and sleeves and was ready to go...1-4 in teams. I had fun tho! Bridget was a blast and I was on stream against TOT (I got to turn 2 which was cool! The deck was fun and I'll post the list at the bottom of this article if you're interested! I ended the day with some solid french fries and hung out with homies before snoozing to play in the main event

Day 2

This was main event day. I slept, I had a monster and was not at all ready but here we go! I started out doing well, 2-0 vs Jorge Zhang, 1-2 vs Marvin Emory, 2-0 vs William B from lost games! They were all super cool and I enjoyed their decks a lot! I then had some panda express for lunch(my go to at regionals) and then went to round 4 going 2-1 against Bread on Team Satisfaction before getting back to back 2-0'd by Constantine A from MGLA and Ross Aubry from Let's Talk UVS. Both incredible players but the losses were very frustrating none the less. I took a break to relax and took some breaths before coming back, managing to secure a 2-1 victory over Christopher De Lozier. This ended my Vegas Regional run at 28th place, making it into top 32. I wasn't pleased with this at first and felt like I had disappointed both myself and my teams but taking time to reflect this was still a great run. Taking Pieck, an off meta deck that no one has played in a long while(especially on the death symbol) and making top 32 was an accomplishment to be proud of especially due to a lack of time to test and really fine tune the decklist. I ended the day with a celebration dinner for all the homies in top cuts(congrats again Dan, Jorge, and Drew) before heading back to the hotel to sleep.

Day 3

This was both finals and Hero Too 1K day! I truthfully wasn't expecting much out of this event. I had not even built the tsu 1 deck and had maybe a game on the deck but I managed to top 8! I went 3-2(thanks to my round 4 opponent who gave me the win so they could hang out with their friends. This didn't last long as I immediately lost in top 8 but that's okay! The deck was incredibly new to me and I was learning on the fly! Next time I'll come back stronger than ever and ready to win a 1K for Hero Too! I ended the day with Korean BBQ with some UVS games folk and that was a blast! Overall I'm so glad I went to this event! I was tired, exhausted, and missed my flight home but it was fabulous as always getting to see homies. I loved seeing everyone and hopefully got to say hi to you! I am going to Dallas as well so if you see me there come say hi! I love meeting people and talking about this game with them. Until next time, the cabal rides!
