Grant Emory
Grant has been playing trading card games on and off for over 30 years! He got into UniVersus specifically in April 2022 when his brother Marvin showed up at his house and asked if he wanted to learn a new TCG and drive 1500 miles to Omaha Nebraska to play in the first in person “Provisional Showdown” and he of course, said yes and has been ADDICTED ever since. Since then he has leaned towards fast aggro characters like Tokoyami 1, Godzilla, King of the Monsters, Godzilla Titan of Terror, and most recently Pony Tsunotori, (Can you tell he likes check hacks?) but has also played his share of slower defensive characters like Grog Strongjaw and Caduceus Clay. Grant also handles most of the graphics side of the channel, website, and team merch designs (outside of logos, we pay real artists for those!), as well as maintaining the website here.

Steven Snyder
Steven, the elder statesman of The Cabal, is a lifelong board gamer (competitive and casual) who learned Universus the Monday before Jet Burn pre-release. He got hooked on the gameplay and community, then became a shiny collector when he pulled a XSR Falling Skies in the first box he purchased. The more alts a deck can have, the better! He has played different architypes, but he hopped on the Pony train and loves aggro the most. In his third “not technically a major” event, he placed 14th in the 2024 Worlds LCQ with the Pony deck, then took second at the Hero Too! 1K event in Vegas 2026 with Pony. Steven’s focus is having fun, and his approach to games is win or learn, there is no losing. When he’s not playing UVS, he can be found around a board game or on the golf course.

blamedSiren
blamedSiren is an online vtuber who shows her face at events to hopefully drag opponents under water. She's been playing competitively since Atlanta 2025 and has made top 32 at every regional since. Since starting her competitive journey she's been a big fast paced aggro gamer with decks like Bridget, Pieck, and Pumat. She likes to come up with unique brews and experiment with characters that others give up on. She's dubbed herself the "wild card" of the cabal, always throwing Marvin and Dan for a spin with her deck decisions that somehow work. When she's not playing Universus, she's probably playing another TCG, video games, doing makeup, or coding. You can see her drinking monsters or eating panda express at regional events getting ready to drop a war crime style hand on turn 2.

Nick Jordy
Nick has been playing UniVersus/UFS since 2015 and has been playing TCGs since he was 10. He was adopted by the local Yu-Gi-Oh scene, and I has been addicted ever since.
He got my nickname Saint Dabi from the dumb ass sleeves he brought to the Pasadena regional in 2023.
He first started UFS/UVS at a local con, and started playing because he saw Megaman and Darkstalkers characters.

Steven Stills
Steven first started his TCG journey way back in 2002. He got into competitive card events first in the Yugioh scene in the late 2000's and later transitioned into MTG, before finding his true love - Universus. A trip to an LGS with a MHA shirt lead to him getting a demo of the "MHA card game" and the rest was history. He found his place in the UAL team after finding a deck profile on his favorite MHA character, All Might, and messaging the creator (and team captain). He's since played in many events and had a ball doing it. Since then he has leaned towards fast aggro characters like Mirio, All Might 3, Younger Toguro, Godzilla King of the Monsters, Ryu, Godzilla Titan of Terror, and most recently is very excited for Armored All Might. He's also dabbled with a few other characters to try different play styles like Byakko, YYH Jin, Fresh Cut Grass, Komori, and Grog Strongjaw. Steven also goes by 0verlordBacon and in his spare time occasionally streams and makes content on TikTok but these days is struggling to find inspiration. He would love to make even more UVS centered content in the future.

Martin McMahon
I’ve been playing TCGs for about 15 years, starting with Magic, Universus for 10. My preferred playstyle is midrange favoring the void, good, and life symbol. My gameplan is usually reactionary, preferring disruption of a kill turn leading to a back swing, though occasionally I’ll dip into aggro. I often try to find rogue decks within the meta to counter popular decks/strategies.

Magnus is first and foremost a member of our good friends over at team Coping With Cardboard. Lore has it that Marvin and Grant kidnapped him at Worlds 2025 with the intention of ransoming him back to Paul and CwC but that ended up being too much work so they kept him instead! Magnus has been playing TCG's since his 10th birthday when he received the goblin vs elves MTG starter set. He has played MTG, Yu-gi-oh, Pokémon, and a few other smaller TCGs. He started playing Universus around the time of Heroes Clash. He was hesitant to start but once he began he passed the judge test that existed within a week. His playstyle is a little all over the place being a bit more dependent on the character than the play pattern.

Bryan Harmon
Bryan is a connoisseur of card games both lost/forgotten and modern. Beginning with competitive Yugioh - achieving Top 64 at YCS Charlotte in 2022 - and achieving a marathon run with competitive Pokémon, he's taking a crack at Universus.
When not slinging cardboard or getting lost in decklists, he is a game developer and software engineer driving around in his Ghost in the Shell itasha car.
