Worlds Tournament Report - Bridget

Written By Siren

Hi everyone! This is Siren back as a guest on this super cool blog page!

I got asked to write about my worlds experience and thought why not! This being my first worlds for any card game ever, I get to describe how it is as a newcomer (something I feel we don't talk about enough). Obviously I played Bridget water rampage (I'll link the list down at the bottom of this article if you're interested) for this event as it's what I felt most comfortable with and felt was one of the strongest decks in the format. So strap in and let's yap about Worlds 2025!

## Day 0

Ok so, day 0 was certainly a whirlwind of a day. I had to work that morning and wrap up packing so it was an eventful morning/midday. I manage to make it to the airport with time to spare(shoutout to my lovely partner). I met up with some friends, including team lechuga! We got on the plane and off we were to Dallas. Upon landing, it was relatively eventful still as we hunted for the airport shuttle to our hotel but finally we made it, meeting up with the gang and getting to meet so many teammates and people for the first time! I even got a uncut sheet card from Cory Nelson so that was incredibly cool. The next few hours were finally a breather with me playing some test games and going with the UAL crew to get WhatABurger for dinner(funnily enough not even getting a burger). I ended the day pretty early to prep for Day 1 of Worlds.

## Day 1

Day 1, got up, chugged a monster, resleeved my deck and was ready to take on the day. I got sat down for round 1 and got the super cool worlds exclusive announcements(at least exclusive for now) before jamming a game with Keenan Meadows on Ashley Fullerton water rampage(A deck you may have seen me play!). It was a super sick match and we are now tied so we'll see who wins our overall match. Going into round 2, I felt confident but this was the start of a long day of bad luck. Playing against mega mutant I checked a 3 almost EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It was honestly crazy and frustrating. This is what led me to a 2-4 record before dropping out of the event as my deck seemed to just not have a desire to function. This caused a lot of frustration as I wouldn't be competing in days 2 & 3 like I planned to but that's where I get to focus on the cool side events and all the things worlds provided for newer/less experienced players who scrubbed out of main event.

## Day 2

Day 2's morning was relatively the same. I ended up playing in the double ticket standard event and it was hype! Shoutout to all of my opponents as everyone was super sick and interested in Bridget! That's always a win in my book to be honest and I can't be upset in the slightest as I did show the glory of freezing 3 foundations on turn 2. I ended up 2-1 with some super close games and having blocked a wopping 5 attacks from a Nago which felt incredibly wonderful. I also played the godzilla prerelease which was insanely sick!(Check out my website soon for an article on that experience and sealed play overall). I ended up playing TItan of Terror and went 3-0, pulling a large amount of the cards I need for my Bridget deck in this upcoming format. Day 2 ended with me having dinner with the Lechuga team at an italian restaurant where I astounded the team by eating almost a whole pizza myself(if you met me in Dallas, you know how skinny I am lol).

## Day 3

This was a major day as it was top 16 and I had 2 different players I was rooting. Gavin Kale and Jorge Rangel. This all happened as I was playing in teams, astounding more players with Bridget's rampage before dropping to play in the zilla prerelease. I played Gigan and decided to meme a bit with Gigan playing 23 attacks in 40 cards. It worked surprisingly well! I went 1-2 but none of that was as important as congratulating Jorge for his victory (which almost caused me to miss my round lol). It was an incredible experience as he is one of the kindest and most well deserving players to win the world championship. All this excitement carried through with me buying Jorge's Top 8 Bridget and getting him to sign it as well as wrapping up the final day of the world championship with Dan's birthday dinner and astounding more people with the amount of food I eat!

## Overall

Worlds 2025 was an amazing experience full of making new friends and hanging out with old friends. I finally got to meet people I've only ever talked to online and got a lot of signatures on my super cool Reze playmat! While I was disappointed in my performance, I know I played well and got screwed because of luck which simply is what it is. Keep your eyes out for me at the Chicago regional and come say hi! I love meeting new people and talking about this awesome game with them! Until I write again, this is Siren splashing out :)
